Ignacio Guerrero

Ignacio Guerrero, born in Guadalajara in 1963, is a self-taught visual artist with over 25 years of experience. His surrealist work explores creative freedom through the use of vibrant colors and the depiction of constantly transforming figures. From horses and birds to human figures in metamorphosis, his work reflects a dreamlike and symbolic world.

In 1995, following an economic crisis and with a decade of experience as a graphic designer, Guerrero decided to dedicate himself entirely to painting. His first solo exhibition was at the Museo del Globo in Guadalajara in 2000, marking the beginning of a prolific artistic career. His work has been exhibited in more than 350 group and solo exhibitions in Mexico, the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Guerrero has been selected several times for the Florence International Biennial of Contemporary Art (2009, 2011, and 2017), and his work is part of the National Artistic Heritage (PAN) in museums in Nayarit, Mexico City, Guanajuato, Zacatecas, and the State of Mexico. He has also actively participated in auctions and charity events.

His art is influenced by masters such as Van Gogh, Dalí, Chirico, Chagall, Picasso, and Diego Rivera. His work, marked by creative freedom and vibrant color, reflects the interplay between nature, imagination, and the human condition, inviting the viewer to explore the power of the impossible through art.

Guerrero is currently exploring new forms of expression, including bronze sculpture. His upcoming projects include an exhibition in New York and several presentations in Florence and Mexico.
