Jessica Gadga
Jessica Gadga, born in Tamaulipas in 1977, is a prominent neo-expressionist visual artist with over 20 years of experience. A graduate in Architecture, she has developed a body of work that explores human duality through dynamic figures that convey both strength and vulnerability. The influence of dance in her childhood is reflected in the fluid, choreographic compositions that characterize her style.
Her career has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Acquisition Prize of the Biennial of the Borders (2015), the First Prize at the Dr. Pérez Romo Biennial of Visual Arts (2017) and the Artist with Career grant from the Program for the Promotion of Creation (PECDA) in 2017. She was also a finalist in the International Etching Biennial of Valladolid, Spain.
GadGa's work is part of the permanent collections of the Tamaulipas Museum of Contemporary Art, the Northeast Fund for Culture and the Arts, the University of Aguascalientes, Arte AC of the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, and Grupo Reforma. He has exhibited in important museums and galleries such as the TAMUX Museum, the Francisco Villa Museum in Durango, the MUPAG in Guadalajara, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Luis Potosí.
Painting, printmaking, and sculpture are the tools with which GadGa explores the relationship between life and death, light and shadow. His work, with its thick, detailed brushstrokes, captures the human form in a state of constant transformation, where figures flow, fade, and meet in an eternal time.
Jessica GadGa continues to expand her artistic language through national and international projects, consolidating herself as a key figure in contemporary Mexican art.
