Alejandro Camacho

Alejandro Camacho Torres is a visual artist, printmaker, and teacher originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco. He studied Painting at the School of Visual Arts of the University of Guadalajara. He began his professional career in 1988 as an assistant at the “Taller de la Gráfica Bordes” (Bordes Printmaking Workshop) under the direction of Pilar Bordes, where he worked for ten years, eventually becoming workshop manager and head printer.

With over 80 solo and group exhibitions, his work has been presented both in Mexico and abroad, including venues in the United States, South America, and Europe. Camacho specializes in techniques such as etching, aquatint, lithography, and monotype, and has incorporated innovations like lithopaper and the use of collage, consolidating a technical and expressive style within contemporary graphic art.

In 1996, he founded the Alejandro Camacho Contemporary Printmaking Workshop, a space that has served as a platform for the production of prints by numerous local and national artists. From his workshop, he has promoted the creation of original pieces, ensuring that each work retains the authenticity of the visual language of the artist who created it.

Camacho has also played a key role as an educator, teaching at the University of Guadalajara for over fifteen years. He has significantly contributed to the training of new generations of printmakers and visual artists, and has brought graphic art to communities through open workshops and cultural programs.

Currently, Alejandro Camacho continues his artistic work from Guadalajara, combining his personal production with technical collaboration for other artists. His commitment to printmaking and teaching makes him a key figure in the contemporary Mexican graphic arts scene.
