Araceli Figueroa

Araceli Figueroa is a visual artist originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, and a graduate of the Visual Arts program at the University of Guadalajara. Her work is deeply inspired by her roots and her childhood near the Primavera Forest, where the peaceful village life, family customs, and Mexican traditions nurtured her artistic imagination from an early age.

Her visual language is characterized by a blend of reality and imagination, depicting colorful scenes and characters that inhabit vibrant and symbolic worlds. Each piece is a visual celebration that transforms the everyday into a poetic narrative, where painting becomes her preferred form of communication.

She has participated in various group and solo exhibitions, including the simultaneous exhibition “Harmonic Juxtapositions” and the solo exhibition “The Inner Garden,” both presented at the UMF Gallery with UMAA No. 52 in 2016 and 2017, respectively. These exhibitions marked the beginning of a career that continues to grow.

In 2020, Araceli received an honorable mention in the Jorge Martínez Painting Prize, a recognition that reaffirms the strength of her visual approach. Her work has been well-received for its ability to connect emotionally with the viewer through elements deeply rooted in Mexican culture and a fresh, expressive personal aesthetic.

With an artistic vision that celebrates identity, nature, and fantasy, Araceli Figueroa continues to develop an honest, colorful body of work deeply connected to her personal history, her environment, and her vocation as a contemporary artist.
