Carlos Torres

Carlos Torres, born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, in 1983, is a prominent visual artist and graduate of the School of Visual Arts at the University of Guadalajara. His training included collaborations in workshops with renowned artists such as Juan Carlos Macías and Sergio Garval, as well as participation in the printmaking collective "La Torre de Los Grillos," where he specialized as a printer and engraver under the tutelage of master Cornelio García.

With a consolidated career, Torres has been recognized in multiple art competitions, obtaining 2nd place in the Second Atanasio Monroy Biennial in 2014, 1st place in the October Salon in 2019 and in the First Graphic Arts Competition Rutas Plásticas in 2018. He has also been selected in the Rufino Tamayo Biennial 2017 and the Rubén Herrera Self-Portrait Biennial 2021, in addition to receiving honorable mentions in events such as the José Guadalupe Posada International Print Biennial 2019 and the José Chávez Morado Prize.

Her work combines elements of op art with realism and portraiture, creating a striking visual fusion. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and biennials in Mexico, the United States, Spain, Germany, Portugal, El Salvador, and Transylvania, solidifying her presence on the international art scene.
