Claudette Farah

Claudette Farah Chalita is a visual artist originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, with Lebanese ancestry, whose work stands out for its vibrant, feminine, and spiritual aesthetic. She began her professional career in 2012 and has since participated in 19 exhibitions, both solo and group shows, including her international debut with the exhibition “AMOR and other stories” in La Jolla, California, in 2019. Farah works with mixed media techniques encompassing oil, acrylic, resin, enamel, and gold leaf on supports such as canvas, wood, furniture, and even mirrors.

The female figure, love in its many forms, and spirituality are recurring themes in her work. Her pieces are distinguished by their use of shimmering materials, textures, reliefs, and vibrant colors that evoke intense emotions and create a sensory dialogue with the viewer. Among her most representative compositions are her own interpretations of the Virgin of Guadalupe, mandalas, stars, moons, and symbolic elements that blend Mexican and Eastern influences.

Farah defines her creative process as free, emotional, and deeply personal. Her works arise from intimate experiences that are transformed into unique pieces full of detail. In her series “Dreams of Freedom, Love, and Birds,” exhibited at the PALCCO gallery in Guadalajara in 2019, she explores the connection between body, soul, nature, and freedom, using both color and black and white to express different facets of her visual narrative.

Her work transcends the canvas by transforming everyday objects like tables and benches, merging art and design. This expanded vision has also led her to collaborate as a graphic designer, developing visual identities for brands and projects. Claudette has proven to be a versatile and committed artist whose work breaks with convention and celebrates love as a universal creative force.

She currently lives between Tijuana and San Diego, where she continues to develop new exhibition projects and has joined binational art collectives. Claudette Farah represents a fresh and bold voice in contemporary Mexican art, fusing the cultural, the emotional, and the aesthetic with a distinctive style full of light and authenticity.
