Ivan Villaseñor

Iván Villaseñor, a graduate in Visual Arts from the University of Guadalajara, is a visual artist with over 20 years of experience. His work explores the relationship between science, philosophy, and abstraction, creating compositions where rhythm, color, and line establish a poetic dialogue with the viewer.

Villaseñor has developed a distinctive technique using encaustic, a combination of waxes and oil paint that allows him to achieve transparencies, depth, and sgraffito effects on the surface of his pieces. His graphic work is notable for its use of monotype, a technique that produces unique pieces that cannot be mass-produced, giving each work an unrepeatable character.

With an established career, Villaseñor has held 11 solo exhibitions and has been awarded three prizes in national painting competitions. His work is part of important public and private collections, including the Pinacoteca of the University of Guadalajara and the Museum of Latin American Art in San Francisco, California.

Iván Villaseñor's work is defined by a deep exploration of color and texture, combining technical precision with an aesthetic and conceptual quest that invites the viewer to a contemplative and sensory experience.

With a solid track record in contemporary art, Villaseñor continues to explore new forms of expression, establishing himself as a key figure in Mexican painting and graphic arts.
