Manuel Rodríguez
Manuel Rodríguez, a visual artist born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, on November 22, 1992, is a graduate of the Bachelor of Visual Arts program for Plastic Expression at the University of Guadalajara. From his earliest steps in art, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to emotional exploration and a constant reflection on his surroundings through painting.
She complemented her academic training with specialized workshops such as “The Methodology of Art,” taught by Gabriel de la Mora at MURA (2014), and “Everything I Wanted to Know About Contemporary Art,” led by Fernando Castro Flórez at the Manuel Felguérez Museum of Abstract Art in Zacatecas. These experiences shaped her critical and theoretical approach to contemporary art.
Her work has been recognized with several honorable mentions in national competitions such as the Jorge Martínez Painting Prize (2014), the October Salon (2015), and the XXXVI National Meeting of Young Art in Aguascalientes (2016). She has participated in solo and group exhibitions in various cultural spaces in Guadalajara and other cities throughout the country.
Manuel's painting practice focuses on the feminine as its central theme, exploring personal relationships, emotions, and fears from an intimate perspective. This approach represents an attempt to approach the women who have shaped his life with respect and sensitivity, transforming painting into a path of healing, recognition, and dialogue with his emotions.
Manuel Rodríguez continues to develop an honest and emotionally powerful body of work, built from the movement of his brushes and the need to translate his experiences into images that resonate with others. His work is characterized by an introspective narrative, in which art becomes a bridge between his personal experiences and the viewer.
