Paul Lozano

Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco in 1982, Paul Lozano trained as a painter at the School of Visual Arts of the Cabañas Cultural Institute. In 2007, he was invited to the Il Bisonte workshop in Florence, Italy, an experience that marked his approach to professional printmaking. He has complemented his training by participating in workshops with renowned artists such as José Fors, Héctor Javier Ramírez, and José Gutiérrez.

Throughout his career he has participated in more than 60 national and international competitions, winning 13 awards, including first place at the October Salon 2018 and the Jorge Martínez Prize in 2020. He has also been selected for renowned biennials such as the Rufino Tamayo, Pedro Coronel and Shinzaburo Takeda, and for events such as the Sofia International Graphic Arts Triennial in Bulgaria.

Lozano has received grants on several occasions: FONCA Young Creators (2009-2010), PECDA Jalisco (2011-2012 and 2017-2018), FONCA Co-investments (2017-2018), and PROYECTA Production (2018). In addition, he has participated in artist residencies at Arteles (Tampere, Finland), Centre Banff (Canada), and Hanna Can C (Barcelona), which have enriched his work with international influences and multidisciplinary approaches.

Her work has been exhibited individually and collectively in important venues in Mexico, such as the Ex Convento del Carmen, the Raúl Anguiano Museum, the Cabañas Museum, the Tamayo Museum, and the Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum. Internationally, she has exhibited in cities such as New York, Chicago, London, Xàtiva (Spain), Tampere, and Sofia.

Paul Lozano's work is part of institutional and private collections around the world, including Il Bisonte in Florence, the International Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sofia, the Xàtiva Museum in Spain, and the Mark Rothko Museum of Contemporary Art. His artistic approach combines aesthetic sensibility with a profound exploration of contemporary visual languages.
