Sandra Carvajal

Sandra Carvajal Novoa, born in Mexico City and based in Guadalajara, is a prominent painter, sculptor, and curator with a career encompassing both artistic creation and cultural management. With a solid artistic background and a deep connection to art from an early age, Carvajal has built her career exploring the relationship between the body, nature, and human emotions.

As the former director of Museums, Cultural Centers, Libraries, and Galleries for the Guadalajara City Council, Carvajal has been a key figure in the city's cultural scene. After leaving public office, she has returned to her artistic practice with renewed vigor, exploring themes of inner searching and emotional regeneration through her series *Of Skins and Flows*. This collection, comprising approximately 50 pieces, reflects an intimate exploration of her inner world, marked by the balance between light and shadow.

Carvajal has exhibited his work in important galleries and museums in Mexico and Europe, notably the Ajolote Gallery and the Government Palace. His work has been described as a combination of human gestures and organic strokes, where each painting is a reflection of total emotional and creative commitment.

His work is an act of love and a political and social statement, a search for authenticity and truth reflected in the creative process. Carvajal works directly on the canvas without preliminary sketches, allowing the creative process to unfold spontaneously and genuinely. Honesty and emotion are the hallmarks of his work.

With a constantly evolving career, Sandra Carvajal continues to explore new forms of expression, establishing herself as an influential figure in contemporary Mexican art and the cultural scene of Guadalajara.
